Oxford Holiday Cottage is a modern, two-bedroom, self-contained, self-catering cottage set on our 10-acre "lifestyle block" in Oxford, North Canterbury, New Zealand. Approx 45 minutes from Christchurch. The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests. Perfect for a weekend getaway in the country, holiday or ski trip. Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The cottage is fully furnished to a high standard, it has a spacious open plan living area, two bedrooms & a bathroom. It is cleaned to a high standard & we take the time to iron the bed sheets. Towels are also provided.
Meet the animals!
Enjoy the peace of the countryside. Meet our extremely friendly guinea fowl and pet chickens! They are such characters and quite the attraction for our guests! We also have three (pet) steers and a rabbit. Relax & unwind, feed the chickens, watch the cattle, explore the forest & enjoy our little piece of paradise! There are also goats, horses, sheep and a peacock in the neighbouring properties!
Come to Stargaze! Oxford Forest is one of only three parks in NZ to gain "International Dark Sky Park Accreditation," so our rural location is perfect for stargazing! We get some of the best naked-eye views of the Milky Way. On a clear night, step outside and look up; the stars are incredible here! (Photo credit: Markus Kaufman)
Toasty warm!
The cottage is lovely & warm - perfect for that winter getaway. There is firewood provided & the log burner can be lit for your arrival. There is a heat pump for air conditioning or heating.
